The Archives and Records Association, Ireland (ARA,I) and the Information and Records Management Society, Ireland (IRMS) have organised a joint lecture and evening reception event with independent archive and records consultant Jeannette Strickland on effective event commemoration.
This evening event will take the form of a lecture and question and answer session lasting approximately one hour, followed by a wine reception.

About the speaker: Jeannette Strickland has been an independent archive and records consultant since leaving her post as Head of Art, Archives & Records Management with Unilever PLC in 2014. A qualified archivist and records manager (Liverpool MA), Jeannette has also worked in local government and for a major charity. She took Unilever Archives & Records Management successfully through submissions for Designation of Unilever’s collections and The National Archives’ Accreditation process; implemented a digital preservation programme; and was responsible for writing the company’s record retention policy and global retention schedule. She has written several papers and chapters for two recordkeeping textbooks, spoken at a number of conferences and organised the International Council on Archives’ Section for Business & Labour Archives conference in 2014. Active throughout her career in both the Archives & Records Association (ARA) and the Business Archives Council, her current professional activities include membership of ARA’s Qualifications Accreditation Panel and acting as a Mentor on the ARA Registration Scheme. She has provided consultancy advice to The Economist newspaper group, Nationwide Building Society and Phoenix Group plc (insurance services), amongst others, and is studying for a PhD.
